Flight Operations Consultant
David has almost 40 years aviation experience as a fixed wing pilot and manager in military, commercial and VIP private operations. He has spent the last 25 years in management roles to a senior level while continuing to fly in command of commercial jet aircraft. He is a former Chief Pilot with a major UK airline and has been a Nominated Post Holder for a foreign VIP operator. Now based in UK, he remains current in the training of B777/787 pilots for a major aircraft manufacturer.
David has over 10,000 flying hours and has trained and tested pilots on military and commercial aircraft including military fast jets, A320, B757/767 & B777. He is experienced in the man-management of crew and technical specialists, and in the development of operations manuals and standard operating procedures.
David is an Independent Individual External Expert for EASA and has worked with national regulators, specifically in the gaining of operational approvals and in establishing Alternative Means of Compliance. He has extensive experience and knowledge of crew Flight Time Limitations and Fatigue Risk Management and has over 20 years’ experience in the analysis and investigation of aircraft events and incidents. Having ejected from a military aircraft which caught fire, he has a personal understanding of the stresses of being involved in a serious incident.
David is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
